Private Pilates Sessions in Denver: Is 1:1 Right for You?

One-on-one Pilates instruction on studio equipment at Denver Pilates Girl

What is a private Pilates session?

A private Pilates session is one instructor working with one client. The lesson can move at your pace, with time for equipment setup, questions, and detailed feedback. At Denver Pilates Girl, private sessions use the Classical Pilates system and may include the Reformer, Tower, and Wunda Chair.

One-on-one does not mean every session is completely different. Classical Pilates has an organized method and progression. Private instruction allows the teacher to select and sequence work within that method for the person in front of them.

When 1:1 instruction can be a good fit

Private instruction can make sense when you are brand new, want focused technique feedback, prefer a quieter setting, or need time to understand equipment transitions. It is also useful when your schedule or learning pace does not fit a group class.

Tell your instructor about relevant injuries, movement restrictions, or medical guidance before you begin. A Pilates teacher can adapt instruction, but Pilates is not medical diagnosis or treatment. Seek clearance from your healthcare provider when appropriate.

  • You want to learn the equipment before joining a class
  • You value direct feedback throughout the session
  • You prefer a lesson paced around one person
  • You want a clear transition plan into small-group Pilates

What private Pilates costs

A single private Pilates session at Denver Pilates Girl is $95. New clients can choose an introductory offer of three private sessions for $180. That series is designed to help you learn the studio approach and prepare for group classes if that is where you want to continue.

Compare the format as well as the price. A private session provides continuous one-on-one instruction; a small-group equipment class is $40 and shares the instructor among no more than five clients.

What to expect from the first three sessions

The first sessions are a chance to become familiar with studio cues, spring changes, and safe transitions. You may encounter the Reformer, Tower, or Wunda Chair as the lesson calls for them. Repetition matters: returning to foundational movements helps the method become less unfamiliar and more useful.

By the end of an introductory series, you should have a better basis for deciding whether to continue privately, move into a small group, or combine the two formats.
